Premiere Dance Academy recognizes that students have different areas of interest and levels of commitment to dance. We are happy to enroll dancers who wish to study dance intensely as well as those who wish to have dance as just one aspect of their lives. We strive to provide a variety of classes for all ages and levels.
Ballet
Combining grace, beauty and discipline, ballet builds strength, form and technique. Used as the basis for all other dance forms, all dancers are encouraged to take ballet to improve their physique, balance and poise. We offer classes from beginner to advanced to pointe. Premiere uses the Vaganova method.
Aerial Art
Aerial Art is a beautiful, creative, and challenging art form that builds unparalleled upper body and core strength, kinesthetic awareness, coordination , and confidence. Beginners will learn basic climbs, footlocks, hip keys, and sequences starting low to the ground on aerial fabric. Knot and sling work will be introduce inversions and wraps. More advanced students will learn beautiful transitions, sequences, and eventually drops on the aerial fabric. Anyone with determination and a great work ethic can progress quickly in these classes.
Irish Step Dance
Irish dance classes offer a vibrant and energetic way to engage with traditional Irish culture, combining rhythmic footwork with lively music. Suitable for all ages and skill levels, these classes typically focus on various styles such as step dancing and ceilí dancing. Participants learn core techniques and choreography while also enjoying a sense of community. Many classes often culminate in performances or competitions, allowing dancers to showcase their progress and foster a deeper appreciation for this art form. Whether for fitness, fun, or cultural enrichment, Irish dance classes provide a joyful and engaging experience.
Hip Hop
Teaches rhythm, musicality and coordination and age-appropriate choreography with no suggestive music/movement. This is an excellent class for high-energy kids who want to take a fast and fun class. Students are challenged to think on their feet while enjoying a fast-paced dance class. Our hip hop dancers develop focus, strength, and agility while having fun.
Jazz
An expression of dance that combines ballet with hip-hop and other less structured forms of dance. With its distinctive style, our jazz classes incorporate isolation and stretching exercises emphasizing strong and proper body alignment and clean technique through floor work, turns, kicks and jumps.
Musical Theatre
Musical theatre is defined as "a form of theater that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting, and dance" Our goal is to focus on vocal technique and character development as we learn how to "act" a song, not just sing it. We will also work on integrating all aspects of Broadway musical theatre in all the show stopping pieces we practice.
Adult & Professional
The focus of this fun and energetic class is to offer our adults a strong ballet technique, placement and artistic sense while enjoying their love for dance and specifically ballet and jazz. The class is designed to create long, lean muscle tone and increase coordination, memory, flexibility, agility, and overall feeling of energy and renewal.
